As with any brand of flag, in severe high wind, thunderstorms, hail or large sudden or sustained wind gusts, you should lower your flag and hoist when bad weather has passed. Remember many severe weather conditions occur after dark. At our home, we take our flag in at nighttime, adding 50% more life expectancy.
The United States Flag Code states it is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flag staffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours per day if properly illuminated during hours of darkness.
TIPS ON PRESERVING THE LIFE OF YOUR FLAG:
